Three years have passed. Your first goal is the forbidden temple inside Mt. Aleph, the Sol Sanctum. Its puzzles are gentle and teach you how dungeons work in Golden Sun.
Vale, three years later
- After a short scene at Isaac’s house, Garet and Jenna join the party.
- The road to the Sanctum starts at the top of the village, but you need Kraden with you first. Cross the bridge at the top of town, take the stairs down and leave by the left edge.
- You’ll walk past the two strangers from the prologue — there is nothing you can do about them yet. Keep heading left and climb the stairs to Kraden’s cottage.
- Talk to Kraden and he comes along.
- Go back to the top of the village. A healer patrols near the Sanctum and sends you back if he spots you: wait until he walks behind the building, then slip past toward Mt. Aleph and the Sanctum doors.
The first floors
- The first room is a pool dotted with stone platforms. Hop from one to the next to cross — start from the right-hand side.
- Follow the corridor to a second, similar room with three exits.
- Take the middle exit first: a chest there holds a Small Jewel.
- Then go up the right side and set the jewel into the minotaur-head carving on the wall.
- Finally take the left exit, where a door has now opened.
- Next is a large hall with three statues along the top. The left and right ones can be pushed (or shifted with Move). Go through the door behind the right statue.
- Follow the path until it splits:
- The left branch ends at a chest with a second Small Jewel. Grab it and come back.
- Continue along the right branch to a door at the top.
- This room has six statues. You can move all of them, but only the leftmost one matters: shift it with Move to uncover another minotaur head for the second jewel.
- Placing the jewel opens a door behind the statue on the far right. Go through.
The sun and moon puzzle
- You reach two rooms with four statues each, carved with a sun and a moon. Enter the right one and take the stairs at the bottom to the floor below.
- Downstairs are two matching rooms — and here the statues can be moved.
- In the left room:
- Push the two side statues up, then in toward the centre.
- Hop onto the middle from below and stand in front of the central statue, right where the beams of light meet.
- Use Move to pull the central statue into the light.
- In the right room, push the statues toward the centre so their light falls on the central circle.
- Head to the lower rooms. In the left one, a beam of light hits the back wall: walk up to it and press A to open a passage.
- In the chamber beyond, Kraden hands Isaac four Mythril Bag×4 to carry the Stars in.
The four Elemental Stars
- Hop across the platforms to the upper right and follow the path all the way right. Work your way down to a statue and press A to take the Venus Star.
- Hop back across the same platforms: a new one lets you climb to another statue holding the Mercury Star.
- Return to the middle and hop along the lower platforms. The third statue gives you the Jupiter Star.
- After some story scenes, reach the last statue (upper left) by looping around from the upper-right path, and claim the Mars Star.
- A long story sequence follows and Mt. Aleph starts to erupt. Run back out of the Sanctum the way you came.
- Back in Vale, more story scenes play out. Soon after, you are free to leave the village and start your journey.
