Erdrick’s Hollow is a short two-floor cave with weak monsters (Slimes, She-Slimes, Drackies, Ghosts, Lunaticks and Spirits) and the free weapon upgrade promised in Chapter 1. At the bottom, Erdrick’s own words give you your real goal. Afterwards, a small detour south to the Roadside Inn and a Secret Spot pays out three Mini Medals before you head for Galenholm.

Follow the cliffs west from the Roadside Inn’s north exit.
Erdrick’s Hollow, B1
Walk south from the entrance. Another group of adventurers is here on the same errand; after a short scene they play a trick on you and run off.
Keep going south to the very bottom and take the bottom-right branch for the Divine Dagger — the weapon you didn’t buy in town. Equip it.
Head north-east until you meet the group’s priest, who has lost his way. From that fork, the left branch dead-ends at a chest with the Sandstorm Scroll.
Go north from the fork. A barrel to the north-east has 56 gold; then turn east and open the chest to the north for a Leather Shield.
Go south and take the east branch at the next fork. A chest to the north holds a Dragon Scale, and the group’s mage is standing nearby. The stairs down are just south.
Erdrick’s Hollow, B2
Head west and take the second turning north for a chest with 314 gold.
Back at the fork, go south past the group’s warrior, then west and south to find their monk struggling against a Slime. The pots here have a Magic Water, two Medicinal Herbs and 103 gold, and the chest is your first Mini Medal.
Go north, then east: a chest just south of the path has a Chimaera Wing.
At the end of the cave is Erdrick’s gravestone. Its message speaks of three sacred treasures held by the descendants of the sages. The other group arrives, has its say and leaves; examine the stone once more for the last part, which tells you to seek the Sphere of Light.
Walk out or use a Chimaera Wing to warp back. The new objective marker is far to the north-east, but there’s a lot to collect on the way.
The Roadside Inn and a Secret Spot
From the Hollow, go straight south-west: a sparkle just before the dirt road has two Antidotal Herbs and a Seed of Agility.
Follow the road south-west to a signpost for Galenholm and the Roadside Inn. Before going on, step into the trees north-west of the sign for a sparkle with two Holy Waters, a Magic Water and 12 gold.
Back outside, walk a little east-north-east for a sparkle with a Turban and two piles of gold (44 and 169). The forest further north-east has one more sparkle: two Medicinal Herbs and a Seed of Strength.
That’s everything for now. Galenholm is in the north-west corner of this landmass.
