Chapter 8: the Faerie Village, Damdara and the Field of Flowers
The Faeries need two flowers; on the way, the ruins of Damdara hold four Mini Medals’ worth of detours. 4 Mini Medals, 4 scrolls.

The Faeries don’t trust outsiders, but the two you saved in Craggy Cave vouch for you. Their chief is missing, so the cure has to wait — until a dream tells you which two flowers to bring. They grow far to the south-west, and the road passes the ruins of Damdara, a town crawling with monsters. Damdara also has an optional boss guarding something valuable; leave it for now.

To the Faerie Village
Warp to the Nameless Ruins, the closest point to the marker. Monsters around here are tougher than in the dwarves’ cave, so head for the village without wandering.
If you want one detour: follow the cliff edge south-east of the village for a sparkle with a Divine Dagger, a Cloak of Evasion and two Magic Waters.
The Faerie Village
You’re thrown out on arrival until the two Faeries from Craggy Cave speak up for you. In the scenes that follow you learn that only their chief can make the medicine, and the chief is missing.
When you can move, cross the river to the east and go north:
The pot outside the house: Slippery Sap.
The northern building: the barrel in the bottom-right corner has a Full Moon Ring; the barrels top right, a Holy Water and a Mini Medal; the pot top left, a Magic Water.
Return over the river to the house on the west side:
The bookcases in the top-right corner: the Snub Scroll.
The chests on the left: the Faerie Foil and the Crackle Scroll.
Talk to the pink Faerie to rest. The story moves on, with scenes showing Princess Gwaelin, and in a dream the goddess names the two flowers the cure needs: glimmergrass and wakerobin. They grow far to the south-west.
Damdara, first visit
Head south-west, cross the bridge and swing round south towards the desert. When you reach it, follow the mountains along its north edge east to a ruined town: Damdara. Enter from the south.
From the entrance, the ruined area to the north-west: a barrel on its north side has Hermes’ Hat.
Back at the entrance, go north and turn right at the first chance: a pot with a Mini Medal.
Head for the north-east corner. North of the poison puddle, a table half-buried in the sand holds the Padfoot Scroll.
Back to the south entrance and north to the only building you can enter: a Mini Medal in the top-right pot and the Demon Demeaner Scroll in the top-left barrel.
Leave and go right into the shell of the next building. Cross its small poison puddle to a barrel with a Ruinous Shield.
From the west entrance go north: a pot among the rubble has 427 gold, and a barrel in front of the building on the right has Musk.
Go to the forest south-west of Damdara. Near its middle is a Secret Spot: examine the base of the central tree for a Mini Medal.
Just north of it is a sparkle with a Chimaera Wing, Frazzled Feathers and an Agility Ring. Equip the ring.
Now cross the mountains to the south-west. The marker sits on what looks like another Secret Spot: the Field of Flowers. It’s empty apart from two marked patches; pick the glimmergrass and the wakerobin.
Something appears after you pick them: a handful of glowing seeds. Take them too, then warp back to the Faerie Village.
