Escort Mayor Shaw to City Hall

  1. Before following anyone, check the steps on your right at the very start for the Front Page of the Tyran Chronicle (collectible 1).
  2. The objective is Escort Mayor Shaw to City Hall, with Follow Tai underneath. Keep the mayor moving and watch the walls as you go: the Anti-UIR Propaganda Poster (collectible 2) is pasted over some graffiti.
  3. The main road is blocked, so the game sends you to Clear the back alleys. Break the chains on the alley gate — a large group is waiting inside, so be in cover before you push through.

Escort Shin to the clinic

  1. Shin needs medical help. The clinic’s entrance is swarming (Eliminate all the monsters), so clear it before you go in.
  2. Inside, the Landa Memorial Medical Supplies Memo (collectible 3) is on one of the tables.

Clear the way for Mayor Shaw

  1. Back outside, the sub-objective is Assist the defending Gears holding the approach to City Hall. Fight alongside them and keep the mayor safe.
  2. On the highway near City Hall, a police car marks the spot for Brick Russo’s tags (collectible 4).

Boss: Chained Brumak

  1. With City Hall secured, a Brumak with a heavy chain storms the square — Kill the Brumak to end Act 1.
  2. How to beat it:
    1. Put your shots into the head and mouth.
    2. Its chain is the big threat: it slams it down when you’re close and swings it wide when you’re not. Keep some distance and dodge or duck behind cover when the arm goes back.
    3. It tends to chase whoever hurts it most, so switch cover often to keep it turning.
    4. Heavy weapons and the Gut-Puncher speed things up; spare ammo is scattered around the square.
