Sea of Stars doesn’t mark many of its extras as quests, but several of them hide Rainbow Conches, the best gear in the game and five of the seven pillars of the true ending. This page covers each one in the order it becomes available: the Quiz Master in Lucent, the Mole Painting in Brisk and the hungry machine in Repine during the story, then the late-game set that opens once you can fly — the world light puzzles, the last three Solstice Shrines, Duke Aventry, the Coliseum and the Queen that Was. The four Flimsy Hammers close the page.

Quiz Master
Once you have the Graplou from the Flooded Graveyard, go back to Lucent. From the bridge on the east side of town, grapple to the post to the north and follow the path into the attic of the inn. The chest there holds a Turbo Cookie.
Give the cookie to the small ghost pirate in the north-west corner of town. He picks a fight — an ordinary battle — and afterwards you can search his grave for the Shed Key.
Open the shed east of the bridge, climb down the well inside and talk to the white pot at the bottom. Say you’re there to play and you drop into a quiz show.
How the quiz works:
Each Question Pack can be played on Casual or Expert. You only earn the reward if every answer is right.
Expert asks all ten questions of the pack and gives you one lifeline fewer from Teaks.
The host keeps asking for more packs; the ones you find around the world unlock new rounds.
When you leave the quiz room, go up the ladder and then the western staircase: a chest there has Obsidian Ore.

Mole Painting
Once you’re free to sail after Maelstrom Point, go to the ruined docks of Brisk and talk to the Molekin by the save point. She wants a portrait of herself.
The painter lives in the Stonemasons Outpost. Get there through the Coral Cascades and the lift, then go into his house behind the inn. Once you tell him about the job, he leaves for Brisk.
Back in Brisk, speak to the painter for a Rainbow Conch.

World Light Puzzles
Come here after Chapter 24, when you can move freely through the home world. On the small island in the north-west (north of Sleeper Island), press the button: four lights switch on across the world map. Each one is turned with your day-night power to point at a whirlpool, and each whirlpool leads down to a set of Sunken Docarri Ruins.
First light — the one north-east of the button. Aim it south-west to reveal a whirlpool just to the west. Ring the bell inside with the Cobalt Hammer and enter. A wheel in the upper left raises and lowers the water.
Lower the water. Push the wooden box to the lower left, then push it up as well.
Raise the water, climb up and push that block down into the water.
Lower the water again and steer the wooden block onto the button in the middle, using the low walls as stops. Stone blocks and side ledges rise.
Bring the stone block south so it can take the wooden block’s place. Push the wooden block right, slide the stone block up into its old spot, then push the wooden block right again, next to the chest.
Raise the water and open the chest: Sapphire Ingot.
Lower the water, push the wooden block north, raise the water once more and take Docarri Seal Fragment A.
Second light — the south-west one, above Mooncradle’s island. Point it south-east to find the next whirlpool. Inside, rearrange the blocks to match each of the three pictures on the north wall, then step on the pedestal.

With the third picture done, collect Docarri Seal Fragment C.
Third light — the south-east one, west of the Sky-Bridge area. Point it north-east, take the whirlpool and ring the bell. This room is about steering a laser up four levels.
Haul yourself up on the left side, hop over to the right and press the switch; the laser turns on.
Back on the left, blow the turbine twice with the Mistral Bracelet to open the upper level.
Up there, hit the turbine five times to form a bridge. Cross, and turn the next turbine so the beam points down.
Return left and turn that turbine so the beam goes right. A grapple post appears: cross again and aim the beam up to open the third level.
On the third level, jump left and route the beam down, right, up and left into the receptor. The fourth level opens.
At the top, walk right to a button; pressing it gives you Docarri Seal Fragment B.
Fourth light — west of Mirth. It reveals a whirlpool in the north-east of the map that drops you at the Sealed Docarri Ruins. The three fragments open the door, and a boss waits further in; bring party-wide healing.
Boss: Sea Slug
Move
What it does
How to handle it
Orb Shot
Basic attack: a pink ball of energy at one character, about 75 damage.
Block as it hits.
Summon: Acid Bug Bombs
Two bugs appear, later run at someone and explode for about 40.
They shrug off a lot of damage; leave them alone and stay healed.
Rock Drop
Drops every character to 1 HP. It can’t kill on its own.
Heal the whole party or cast Lunar Shield straight after.
It’s a stronger copy of the very first boss with only three moves, and it hits hard. Rock Drop followed by an Orb Shot or an exploding bug is what kills, so keep everyone above roughly 80 HP.
Don’t waste turns on the bugs or on hit-all skills; put your strongest attacks into the slug. Healing items for the whole party, or Resh’an, carry you through.
Afterwards an achievement pops, and deeper in the den you find a Rainbow Conch and, after some scenes, the Aetherwood Cork. That completes the Docarria ruins pillar.
Endgame Solstice Shrines
Two shrines are on the main route: Wraith Island (Chapter 10) and Evermist Island (Chapter 12). The other three need flight, so leave them until after Chapter 24. Each one you clear dims one of the Solstice Gear orbs.
Shrine below Mirth. At the entrance, stand on the symbol and light the right glyphs, then the middle, then the left. Inside, three switches open the door; the left light grows vines and the right light raises blocks.
Turn on the left light, climb the vine and hit switch 1.
Stay up there and switch to the right light. Use the block that appears to jump right.
Swing the light back to the left, then climb onto the higher blocks.
Drop down and set the light to the right (the rope helps you see it, but isn’t needed). Blocks pop out; jump down on the right to a lever and pull it to raise blocks higher up.
Climb the centre vine again, step onto the higher ledge and go right to switch 2.
Return to the platform next to the rope and hop up on the left side. The lever there brings a block up beneath you; land on it and switch 3 is in reach.
The chest holds the Heliacal Earrings for Zale: Magic Attack +10, and Sunball deals full damage to the targets it splashes.
Shrine north of Mooncradle, in the west of the map, in the strait between the two big islands. To open the entrance, start with the upper-left moon light, then the moon light after it, then work clockwise around the remaining lights.
Inside is a stepping-stone floor. Falling into the void sends you back to the start, and a reset button puts the stones back.
Step on the buttons below in order (you can cross blank tiles), jump off and press the switch, then reset before the next route.
Goal

Right switch
NE, NE, SW, NW, NE, SE, NE
Left switch
NW, NE, NE, NW, NW, SW, SW
Central island
NE, NE, NW, NW, NE, NE — then leap to the middle at once
The chest on the central island holds Eclipse Armor, the best armour for Zale or Valere.
Shrine in Serai’s world, on its west side. The entrance is a timed glyph puzzle: the right glyph drops one block above and pushes two others out; the left glyph raises the big platforms on both sides.
Stand on the left platform and light the left glyph to ride it up.
While it rises, hit the right glyph with light; blocks form a path to the right — jump over.
Let the platform sink again, then shine on the right glyph once more to reach the switch above, which opens the door.
Inside, the chest sits across a big pit. Touch the crystals around the room to light it. The walled 3×3 grid near the entrance is a model of the pit: each stone block you place there becomes a platform, and blue tiles are spaces you can’t use yet.
Take the northern stairs and press the button at the top. The wall around the grid sinks so you can push the blocks.
Go left and press the second button: one blue tile disappears and a climbable wall rises.
At the grid, push the right-hand block left, up, then left.
Climb north, cross the new platforms and press the third button. Two more climbable walls appear, one on the right and one below you.
At the grid: top block right, then down; bottom block up, then right.
Climb north along the new route, grapple across the pit onto the wall, press the button to the north, then run south, jump off the ledge and press the next button. Two more blue tiles vanish.
At the grid, move the blocks to the upper-left corner and the middle of the left column.
Climb the left-hand walls and use the platforms to reach the north-west corner. The button there adds a third stone block.
Push that new block left, climb back up and cross to the chest: Celestial Ray (Magic Attack +5, and regular attacks restore one more MP, four in all).
Solstice Trial. Clearing the last shrine opens a small portal on the Mountain Trail. Enter the trail from the top, go right to the portal for the original Elder Mist Trials, then follow the water south and climb down the wall. The cave with a blue and a red flame outside holds the portal. Step through for a scene and a rematch.
Boss: Elder Mist (rematch)
Move
What it does
How to handle it
Fist Smash
A huge fist drops on one character for 20–40.
It comes straight down; block on impact.
Counter Slash
Triggered if you hit the Elder Mist while its sword is still up: 60–65 to both characters.
Kill the Elder Mist Sword first.
Healing Mist
The smaller charge move; heals the boss for around 140.
Break the locks.
Torblado
New: a tornado of blades fires three blades at one character, about 140 in total.
The blades are evenly spaced — block each one.
Only Zale and Valere fight here. The rules are the same as the first fight in Chapter 2: clear the sword before touching the boss.
You can afford to break that rule now and then — when Lunar Shield is already up, or Zale can heal right after. If the sword has taken two or three hits, an ultimate that also breaks the charge can finish it off without triggering the counter.
Save Valere’s MP for Lunar Shield and Moonerang (moon hits for the locks). Let Zale attack the sword, then the boss, healing when needed and boosting whenever he can.
The win gives the Sun Blade and Moon Bo, the best weapons for Zale and Valere.
Releasing the Duke
Late in the game, Hortence tells you about someone Romaya is holding against their will and marks the start on the map: Romaya’s Secret Passage, on a small island north-east of Wraith Island.
The passage opens with a turbine puzzle. Set the turbines to the symbols shown in the treasure room of the Flooded Graveyard — the little cave north-west of its campfire and save point, where the Duke stands outside. Reports differ on whether the pattern is random, so read it off that room rather than relying on a picture.
The new path leads back into the Flooded Graveyard and unlocks the treasure room. Take Romaya’s Journal and give it to the Duke just outside. His memory returns and he hands you a Yellow Flame: give it to the ferryman to reach a new area, the Half Sunken Tower.
Half Sunken Tower:
Save at once, go north and win the first fight. Pick the apples on the left, then take the raft to the right.
Ride to the lower right and fight on the patch of land there. A picnic basket holds Maple Syrup x4.
Head right for more apples, go south and jump into the water. Swim left underwater to Half Sunken Tower chest 1: a Rainbow Conch.
Raft north to another dock. Grapple up to the switch and use it; two Bell Pepper plants are there too.
Raft south and right to a third dock with two peaches, a camp spot and a save point.
Inside the tower (the crack in the ground floor is where you’re heading):
Fight at the entrance, climb the stairs and fight again. A basket holds Peaches x6.
Hit the switch to extend a platform, then jump off it to smash the thin floor. You land in water; climb out on the left for Half Sunken Tower chest 2: Obsidian Ore x2.
Take the whirlpool and carry on until Romaya appears.
Boss: Romaya (rematch)
Move
What it does
How to handle it
Eyeball Throw
Her basic attack, on one character. Light damage.
Block on impact.
Bone Cage
Locks one character in a cage; they can’t act.
Break the cage first, every time.
Bone Pillar
Raises her on a pillar so she can’t be hit.
Smash the pillar to bring her down.
Necromancy: Bone Pile
Raises Revenants.
The more dangerous pile — damage it first.
Necromancy: Flesh Pile
Raises Gulgul, which can help or hinder.
Second priority.
Felfire Rain
Charge move: about 50 to everyone.
Break the locks, or heal through it.
The same fight as in the Flooded Graveyard, scaled up. Both piles can be targeted, and the cage counts as a target too, so hit-all skills can strike up to six things at once.
Free caged allies straight away, break her locks when you can and keep Lunar Shield up. Once both piles run out of HP, Romaya has nothing left to hide behind.
She gives up the Aventry Locket. Take it to the Duke: he chooses to move on and leaves you Duke Aventry’s Key, along with an achievement.
Use the key on the coffin in the crypt to the south-west for Eclipse Armor and the Aventry Crest, which tells a story at the next campfire.
The Coliseum
Late in the game an arena — the Dweller’s Fall Arena — opens in the north of Brisk, where the fountain used to be (head straight north from the southern shops). B’st fights in every rank, and the first three ranks fix the rest of the party.
Rank

Reaper’s Mercy
Special
Your whole party
Croustalion
Vitric Simulacrum
Bronze is easy with Resh’an healing. In Silver, only Zale can heal; the Clockwork Abomination keeps summoning Clockwork Zombies, so bring hit-all attacks.
In Gold, the Basic Basement Batch is the hard one: take out the Owlsassin or the Scout early to cut down the number of hits coming in, and be ready to heal and revive. Sylgain hits harder per blow but deals less damage overall — he fires his cannon at one character and lashes with his belt three times, with a pause before the third lash.
Beating Gold unlocks the Special Rank, with no party restrictions.
Boss: Croustalion
Move
What it does
How to handle it
Measure Chest summon
Two chests join: one heals him, one casts weak magic.
Kill the healing chest; ignore the caster.
Kondo Throwdown
Hits the whole party at once.
Block and heal.
Peterade
Cannonballs fired at the party.
Follow their rhythm to block each one.
Item throw
Anchors, urchins and other junk for small damage.
Block.
The giant crab in the arena’s backdrop is the opponent. The fight is long rather than dangerous: stop the healer, keep the party topped up and keep attacking.
His locks often need eight hits, so save combos and ultimates to break them.
Winning gives an achievement and the Vitric Simulacrum, B’st’s best armour. The crab, now much smaller, moves into the Vespertine as a new companion.
The Queen that Was
After Chapter 24, make camp or rest at an inn and talk to Serai. She brings up another threat to Repine and gives you Joce’s Belt Buckle.
Give the buckle to Teaks to hear the story *The Cerulean Expedition*: three groups searched the Cerulean Expanse for the Queen, and none found her.
Group
Route they took
Brochu
NE, SE, S, NW
Elbi
SW, S, SW, E
Joce
N, E, NE, S
The right route
NE, SE, NE, E
In the Cerulean Expanse east of Repine (Chapter 22), walk NE, SE, NE, E — no direction slabs needed. You reach a large transport sphere that takes you to the Throne of the Queen That Was, an area off the map that can only be reached this way.
Go up the stairs and right for the first chest: the relic Artful Gambit. The upper-left corner has the second: a Rainbow Conch.
Further right are a campfire and a save point. Use both — the fight ahead is a tough one.
Boss: Gun Goddess
Move
What it does
How to handle it
Gun Pound
Basic attack: a gun-part arm slams down on one character, around 35–40.
Block on impact.
Spread Shot
Basic attack on everyone, around 30 each. Fast and from the side.
Hard to block; Lunar Shield heals it back.
Fan the Hammer
The smaller charge: she fires every bullet she has, 30–40 per shot. Fails if she has none.
With no bullets on the field, let it happen and use the turns to heal or build MP.
The Shot
Nine-lock charge. Drops one character to 1 HP.
You usually get three or four turns: break it with combos and ultimates, or heal the target with Zale straight after.
Her body is made of gun parts, and from time to time bullets appear beside her, feeding her extra attacks. Hit them only with hit-all skills or Resh’an’s normal attack; keep combos and ultimates for The Shot.
It’s a long fight because of her HP. Switch between hit-all attacks (for the bullets) and normal attacks (for her), spread your healing out with Resh’an and Lunar Shield, and you’ll get there.
After a short scene you receive Star Shards, Serai’s best weapon. That completes the Queen’s pillar.
Flimsy Hammers and the hidden room
The four Flimsy Hammers don’t do anything on their own, but together they open a secret room. You need all four.
Flimsy Hammer
How to get it
Wheels
The last reward of the Wheels mini-game, for beating the Watchmaker.
Catch all 23 fish and talk to the Master Fisherman in Mirth.
Quiz Master
Win all eleven Question Packs on both Casual and Expert.
On Mirth’s island, head into the Ancient Crypt in the north. One room further north is a cluster of teleport tiles: use the one that is both central and topmost.
In the graveyard room you arrive in, walk a little north-east to a broken grave. Stand on its right side and push it left with the Mistral Bracelet. A ladder appears.
Climb down and go north: the four walls there each need one hammer. At the end, examine the wardrobe, then step inside it.
