The party lands on Sleeper Island. After the short walk down X’Tol’s Landing, the Moorlands take up most of this chapter: a maze of cliffs, rivers and thin patches of ground you break by jumping on them, with a quick side trip to the Windy Loch fishing spot. At the eastern end you meet Teaks and learn the combo skill Solar Rain. Two Moorlands chests need tools you get later; they’re listed here so you know to return.

X’Tol’s Landing
- Once the talking is over, take the path southwest and follow it down and round to a small cave. Its chest holds the Solstice Mage Ring: only Valere and Zale can wear it, and it gives back 1 MP every time you time a block.
- Return and go right along the top for some Grain. Then make your way down the steps and cliffs; a short side trip northwest leads to 90 gold, and the lower ground to the right has more Grain.
- Either climb down the ladder to the southeast or jump straight off the cliff onto two Wanderers. After them, pick the Lettuce just to the north.
- Climb the cliff and cross the ropes. On the way down the ledges, pick the Tomatoes and look for a chest half hidden in a corner: it has a Rainbow Conch, which its description says a collector might want.
- Keep heading east, press the switch to open the way and leave. Someone is watching the party from a distance as it goes.
Moorlands: the first broken floor
- There’s a save point at the entrance. The earth moving to the south is an Ant Bruiser; try to catch it from behind so the fight starts in your favour.
- Grain grows to the left. On the right the ground looks thin: you’ll break it soon. First go north and loop round clockwise to the southeast, where you can climb. A detour north and then northwest has two tomato plants.
- Come back and jump down onto the thin earth. It gives way and drops you into a cave with four mushroom pickups. Collect them and climb back out.
Moorlands: Srowers and the crystal wall
- Go up and northeast. Down the slope you meet Srowers: they throw their weapons, and a finished charge becomes a bomb that hits the whole party. Their locks are usually moon/sun or sun/sword, so a combo or a boosted Zale breaks them.
- Further on you’ll pass more Grain and some ancient runes too old to read for now. A mixed fight follows.
- To the right stands a blue crystal wall you can’t do anything with yet. South of it are two yellow pepper plants.
- Stay on the lower level going right for a fight with Rochevres, and grab the Grain down there.
- Then go back west to the crystal wall, climb the cliff on its left and jump across the gaps to the chest with the Power Belt (+4 attack).
Moorlands: the cave and the eastern lake
- Drop down and head southeast. You’ll find another patch of thin earth with a ledge above it. Heal first, then go into the cave for a fight with an ant and two Srowers.
- Climb up nearby for lettuce and tomatoes, leave the cave, and pick the potato plant on the way up. Now jump from the ledge south onto the thin earth to break through.
- There’s little in the cave below; exit on the right. You come out in the east of the moor, where enemies are fighting each other. Finish them off and note the chest to the south.
- Jump into the water, swim south, climb out, and go left to that chest: Teal Amber Ore x4.
- Return to the lake and follow its shore north to a camp with a save point and a few potatoes. Rest, save and cook.
Moorlands: the river and Windy Loch
- From the camp, follow the water east until it ends, then go right to a fight. There’s a hole in the ground here: walk round below it, climb up and jump in.
- This cave has two mushroom patches and another thin floor. Climb up and fall through it. The lower cave has three more mushroom patches and, on the way out, the chest with the Silver Sword, an upgrade for Zale.
- Climb out and go north to a fight. More runes sit to the west; two lettuce plants grow to the northeast.
- Carry on east to more water. Get in and swim south along its edge to a chest with the Rock Lid, a new weapon for Garl.
- Further east, a cave opens in the river. Beat the enemies inside and come out again; there’s a chest up above, which you’ll reach in a moment.
- The path forks here. The southwest branch leads through a fight to an exit onto the world map, right next to the Windy Loch.
Windy Loch
- A small fishing spot with no merchant. Swim north past the water for some Grain and Potatoes.
- Two fish are new here, Hardshell and Grass Haddock, and Lunar Trout bite as well. All three are easy catches.
- When you’re done, return to the Moorlands through the same exit.
Moorlands: Teaks and Solar Rain
- Outside the river cave, ignore the water to the northeast and go north onto the high ground above the cave. Look around for Grain and Potatoes, then jump into the hole there: it drops you beside the cave’s chest, Recipe: Mushroom Soup.
- Go back out and continue east into a long scene. You meet Teaks, a travelling historian, and end up at a camp with her.
- She wants artifacts for her grimoire. Ask her for a story: the only one she knows so far is The Vespertine. Remember that the ship in it is seen at dusk.
- Further east is another light puzzle with three symbols on the ground, and the light has to cover all of them quickly. Light the two long ones first and the short one last. The reward is the combo skill Solar Rain.
- Keep going east and climb when you can: two berry bushes and a friendly Wanderer. Talk to him again and again until he gets annoyed and gives you a Mushroom Soup.
- The path ends on the world map. From this side of the moor you can reach the Stonemasons Outpost: Chapter 4.
