After the long scenes that follow Kiln Mountain, Zale and Valere have their Ultimate attacks — Solen’s Light: Salvation for Zale and Luana’s Might: Retribution for Valere. The Cloud Kingdom’s council then opens the way to the Sea of Stars. This chapter takes you down through the giant statues, past a Guardian that attacks without warning, through the Derelict Factory and into Repine, Serai’s home town. Two Repine chests stay locked until you collect all four Data Strips.

BossWhere
GuardianThe “???” island inside the Sea of Stars, when you switch on the console in the dark tunnel.

Before you dive

  1. The story resumes in Mooncradle. Walk around and talk to people if you want. When you’re ready, tell Yolande you want to go, and she brings you back to the Cloud Kingdom.
  2. Return to the council chamber. In the scenes there, the giants open the way into the Sea of Stars: the enormous statues standing in the open ocean.
  1. Sail to the statues. Between them is a whirlpool big enough for the whole ship; ride it down.

The trek and the Sea of Stars

  1. Once the ship touches bottom, go ashore on the cave’s west bank. The path that starts there is named Trek to the center of the world.
  2. There’s no treasure here and only a handful of enemies — colourless versions of ones you already know, with the same attacks. The route is straight down: drop through hole after hole, with a fight between drops, until you come out on a new world map.
  3. Board your boat on the left. Now look out for a bright glint in a corner of the screen. It’s a large ball of light; touching it flings you in one direction.
  4. Following the lights:
    1. Keep sailing straight in the direction you were thrown until another glint shows in a corner.
    2. Head for it and touch it again.
    3. Repeat until the camera angle changes, then collect the small balls of light along the way.
  5. You reach a small island. Land, go west and enter the area marked ???.
  1. Follow the dark tunnel to a console in the upper right corner. Switching it on brings the lights up — and a boss with them.

Boss: Guardian

MoveWhat it doesHow to handle it
Taser GripClamps onto every character, then sends one bolt of electricity down to each. 20–30 damage per character.Ignore the grab; block when each bolt falls.
Laser ShotBasic laser at one character, 15–25 damage.Easy block.
Summon DroneAdds drones that fire at one character for about 25 on their turn, and unlock Power Shot.Switch to hit-all skills while they’re out.
Power ShotOnly with a drone out: the Guardian mounts it on its gun for about 35 damage to one character.Clear the drones to take it away.
  1. This fight isn’t demanding. When drones appear, use hit-all skills such as Sunball or Moonerang to sweep them along with the boss.
  2. Keep your combo for Moon Shiv or another heavy hitter; the fight also runs long enough for a first try of the new Ultimates.
  3. Break locks when you can, keep Lunar Shield up when it’s convenient, and heal now and then; the damage stays low throughout.
  4. Afterwards Serai explains who she really is and where you are. The next destination is Repine.
  1. Leave through the gate the Guardian came out of, make your way back to the world map and take the boat. Ride the whirlpool back up, sail to the eastern island, land on its south side and enter the Derelict Factory.

Derelict Factory: getting in

  1. The gate up the stairs is locked. A campfire and save point sit to the east; use them.
  2. Climb the ledges west of the gate. Up top there’s a cracked window in the floor: walk to the far end and jump through it.
  3. Right where you land, a chest on the east side holds Recipe: Sashimi.
  4. Use the console on the west side; it powers a second console, which opens the main gate. Go north through the door to a fork.
  5. Take the east branch first: its console lights two symbols on the floor.
  6. Step on the first circle to be teleported north into a fight with four Turrets. Each shoots one character; charged, they spin and hit everyone.
  7. Afterwards, use the console to the west to shift the floor symbol north. Climb the wall nearby, go back south and teleport again; this time you land further north.
  8. Before taking the door, go east for a chest with Wireplate Armor.

The battery hunt

  1. The next room has a campfire and save point on the east side. Go north: the console in the middle needs a Kybermesh Battery, and of the two consoles further north, the northern one needs an ID card. The western one turns on a teleporter; take it north into the next room.
  2. Two red lights sweep this room. Activate the consoles on both the west and east sides; a light that catches you starts a fight, which is fine experience. The corners hide ingredients.
  3. Cross the bridge that extends to the north, win the fight and read the console: a battery needs a Blueprint Disc, Kyber Ore and a Power Unit.
  4. Before you leave, search the west wall for the Crane Operator ID Card.
  5. The crane:
    1. Teleport back and use the northern console now. A green laser crane appears, able to move the cross-shaped teleport modules and other objects.
    2. Pick up the chest in the northeast corner and lower it into the hole right next to you: Rainbow Conch.
    3. Then carry the northern teleport module to the hole on the west side, teleport over and enter the next room.

The three side rooms

  1. North room — three tall containers:
    1. Push the middle one, then search the northwest wall: Kybersteel Daggers, a big upgrade for Serai.
    2. Move the container on the east side to expose a wall compartment with Adamantite Ore.
    3. For the console in the middle, leave and come back so the containers reset. Push the left and right ones north, slide the middle one aside and use the console: Wireplate Sheet.
  1. West room: more red lights and a three-enemy fight. Feed the Wireplate Sheet into its console to make the Power Unit, and take it.
  1. East room: after its fight, check the four wall consoles for 3G, Sashimi, the Blueprint Disc and Eggs x3.
  2. In the hub again, have the crane carry the teleport module over to the east hole, then step through the door on that side.
  3. The last material:
    1. Climb the ladder; its console moves the grapple point. Grapple northeast and use the console there to power the next one.
    2. Come back, move the grapple point again, cross, and use the second console to fire the laser below. It cuts open a small cave.
    3. On the way north, the west wall has an Onion; the opening itself holds the Kyber Ore.
  4. Return the teleport module to the north and use the far-north console with all three parts. The battery is built and carried to the crane room automatically.
  5. Drop the battery into the hole to the south with the crane: it powers the central elevator. Its controls are just south of the crane’s console. Ride it up and out to the world map.

Cerulean Reservoir (fishing)

  1. Repine, with its green lights, is straight ahead. The Cerulean Reservoir to the east is the last fishing spot, with four new fish: Laser Burbot, Coil Flounder, Cybernardl Hermite and Silicium Sponge.
  2. Unlike most fishing spots it has a chest: walk past the water to the far north for a Data Strip. Details on every fish are on the fishing page.

Repine

  1. Save at the entrance, then take the alley north to a chest with a Rainbow Conch.
  2. The building to the west with the red sign is the inn. The person on the right talks about Wheels, and the machine in the middle asks for food — that’s the Feed Me Something... quest on the side quests page, which you may already be able to finish.
  3. East of the entrance is a building with a green glow. Nothing to do there yet, but the hole inside will matter later.
  4. Go north, but skip the stairs for a moment: the alley beyond leads to a chest with a Data Strip. Then follow the path along the east wall north to an NPC and a sparkle with Apple x4.
  5. Climb the stairs to the equipment shop. Besides the merchant there’s a chest next to the counter with a Rainbow Conch.

  1. Skip the staff and blade: better weapons for Valere and Zale are close. The Nano Injector can only be worn by Serai and shortens how long knocked-out allies stay down — handy, but pricey for what it does.
  2. The orange console on the shop wall wants a Cypher, which you make from the four Data Strips. You have two at most so far.
  3. Outside, the stairs north lead to Serai’s house. First visit the building with the blue sign to the west, the item shop.

  1. The one thing to buy here is Recipe: Yakitori Shrimp.
  2. Take the stairs south to the west end of the rooftops: a basket holds a Pudding Chomeur, which refills one ally’s MP completely.
  3. Finally climb all the way up to Serai’s house. Inside you meet Cedric, an AI in Serai’s computer, who shows you the fallen moon and its guardian, the Dweller of Dread. You receive the Probe.

The Data Strips and the Cypher

  1. Where the four strips are:
    1. Repine chest 2 (this chapter).
    2. Cerulean Reservoir chest 1 (this chapter).
    3. The fast-travel station north of the Sea of Stars — Chapter 24.
    4. The Fleshmancer’s Lair — Chapter 25.
  2. With all four, use the console in Serai’s house to build the Cypher, then use it on the orange console in the equipment shop. The hidden room holds Question Pack #9 and the Cosmic Cape.
  3. That covers Repine for now. The Probe is needed in the sandy expanse that lies east, beyond the reservoir — continue with Chapter 22.
